Welcome to the brand new Soil Foodweb Oregon website!
Soil Foodweb Oregon is committed to the successful implementation of a simple approach to Biological Farming. We help you incorporate Organic, Soil Foodweb and Environmental practices to create healthy, productive and efficient agriculture to produce higher yields and better nutritional quality in the crops produced.
We have spent the last several years developing services and testing products that will fulfill the needs of a shifting agricultural climate. With the high costs of fertilizers and the continued degradation of arable lands it is imperative to have a cost effective and sustainable system that can meet or exceed the current requirements of food and fuel production worldwide.
We offer a guided, step by step program that will allow you to experience the benefits in a cost effective and manageable way. This system is designed to work from small scale subsistence farming to large scale commercial agricultural operations.
Currently we have programs in place around the world, from the USA to Ukraine, Nicaragua, Canada, the Bahamas, Australia, Hawaii, South Africa and Europe. Approximately 1,000,000 acres are currently under production using these methods. These methods combine compost tea brewing, application equipment, proper compost practices (both for compost tea production and direct application to the land), foods to feed soil biology, practical education, testing and consulting.
The basis of our approach was developed by Dr. Elaine Ingham, the world’s foremost authority in Soil Microbiology. Dr. Ingham has spent the last 20+ years developing testing protocols and methodology for understanding the proper conditions for plants to survive without the use of chemical fertilizers. Her worldwide network of testing facilities has provided us the background and framework for developing the current system of sustainable soil management. In addition to the laboratory services, Dr. Ingham has developed an educational approach to instructing growers in the proper implementation of this technology around the world. Furthermore, Dr. Ingham has written a number of books related to this approach which are available through Earthfort.
Ultimately, our approach is simple--feed the soil biology and the plant will feed itself.
